Overview:

Tropical Penguin’s Sports Marketing Manager oversees each Sports Marketing Representative within their territory. They educate each SMR on sales programs, territory travel, target teams, account set up and identifying new territory opportunities. Actively drive team sales through existing sponsorship agreements, help in selecting teams and coaches for new product testing and placement. Pursue new teams in geographical area to educate about Tropical Penguin products & participate in our programs. Support sales by attending various events such as coaches clinics, swim meets, and any other programs we mutually agree upon to participate in.

Responsibilities:

SPONSORSHIP

* Work with SMR to identify new team contracts to leverage sponsorships within local swim teams markets

* Review details of sponsorship contracts and agreements with Tropical Penguin coaches

* Manage sponsorship details, event outfitting, event participation with Tropical Penguin SMR and Sales reps within territory Work with SMR to maintain team sponsorship database with order numbers, team notes, remaining support allowance

* Make sure SMR maintain team sponsorship database

* Work with SMR to manage coach and team communication

* Assist in forecasting potential promotional items and product needs for Tropical Penguin incentive programs

* Manage contracts for all Teams within territory to ensure teams staying within contract allotment

* Following up with teams, dealers and reps regarding outstanding promotional and team outfitting orders

SALES:

* Assist SMR in account sales presentations, booking programs, territory travel, goals and growth opportunity

* Manage SMR account quarterly and yearly sales #

* Manage SMR and work with Sales Representative to identify new account opportunities.

* Work with local sales reps, team dealer and sports marketing representative to introduce new products to the end consumer through events, clinics, meets and practices.

* Coordinate with Sales Rep and SMR to manage information, sponsorship and promotional programs with Team Dealers

* Assist Sports Marketing Representative in new account identification, set-up and development

* Educate Sports Marketing Representative with product & sales program presentations and territory travel

PRODUCT:

* Work with SMR in implementation of testing and documentation of new ideas with Teams and coaches

* Manage communication from territory to merchandising department on technical product development and feedback from the field

* Coordinate branding and launch of new product with respect to teams, coaches, events and dealers

* Manage product seeding with SMR with key teams, coaches and dealers to assist in sales

* Assist in product training of SMR on new product features and benefits and how to sell them into teams, coaches and team dealers.

Event fulfillment

* Attend industry events, swim meets and trade shows (Central States Clinic, NISCA clinic, ASCA clinic, Breaststroke for Hope events, Olympic Trials, US Open, and JR Nationals)

* Work with selected accounts and sales reps in territory at various events to promote brand and educate consumer on benefits of various products (FAST Paddles, New Tropical Penguin FinWings, Rangs, etc.)

* Organize involvement of Tropical Penguin Team Dealers, SMR and sales reps to maximize Tropical Penguin exposure and sales

* Assist with on-site booth merchandising at grass roots events in local area

* Oversee Tropical Penguin Sports Marketing, Sales Reps and Team Dealer’s event booths, sales specials, on-hand inventory and team interaction

* Manage local market promotions linked to events and clinics

* Manage Tropical Penguin role with event management to maximize brand presence

* Manage travel of SMR within territory for all events, account presentations and team visits
