The PITS: They make it impossible to drop your elbows.

So they make it certain you will gain strength and muscular endurance in the muscles and movements that set up your stroke. The early vertical forearm (EVF) is consistently the one thing that world class swimmers do better than those they beat. But even the best drop their elbows when fatigued. This training and teaching device can be used for full stroke in free, back and breast and the first half of fly. The PITS are also ideal for sculling drills and races. If you’ve been dropping your elbows consider that problem solved! Take them off and it’s going to feel funny if you don’t catch the water early and accelerate with fewer bubbles and more distance in each and every stroke. They work perfectly for free and back and even force body rotation. The Pits work even better to teach a sculled breaststroke pull. If you’re a butterflier, you need to use our isokinetic swim bench and our Finis mirror. Now, when you race with sculling drills you’re sure everyone is fair!
